Field Meetings

The Club holds field meetings from October till May every year. Each walk is led by an experienced member of the Club. We aim to see as many species of bird as possible. Our field walks present an ideal opportunity for those new to birdwatching to learn about birds and how to identify them, they also allow members to learn from each other out in the field.

Some walks are targetted for seeing wetland birds, others for woodland birds and also migratory birds. We visit local places in our area around Blackburn and Preston, but also over towards Southport, the Fylde, North Lancashire and the Forest of Bowland. We occasionally visit places further away on a day trip or have weekends away (see Weekend Trips for more details).
